US pop-punk/ska band Victory Kid is back with renewed energy through their brand-new single L’Appel Du Vide that was released this Friday. With a sound that oscillates between the raw energy of punk, the catchy hooks of pop-punk, and the blaring horns of ska, Victory Kid remains true to its mission—to deliver music with heart, attitude, and musical drive.

“A colorfully manic ska punk song with bouncy energy and dark undertones, this track is a jolt of lightning. The French term “L’Appel Du Vide” translates to “the call of the void”. Describes the inexplicable urge to do something stupidly destructive like steering into oncoming traffic, or flipping a tray of tacos (which they specifically sing about in the track).”

Victory Kid is a transatlantic punk-driven band rooted in Los Angeles with strong ties to Europe, blending high-energy pop-punk, ska influences, and socially conscious songwriting. Formed in 2018, they first broke out with their debut EP Illenials, followed by Thrillenials, and have been active for over seven years. Their 2021 full-length album Discernation was released through SBÄM Records, solidifying their European presence and leading to extensive touring across both continents. Victory Kid has toured alongside major punk and ska acts including Zebrahead, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, The Real McKenzies, and Mad Caddies, earning a reputation for dynamic performances and infectious hooks. They’ve continued to grow their catalog with singles like “Escape Our Fate,” “No Brakes,” and the 2025 track “Expectations,” serving as the lead-up to their next full-length scheduled for 2026. Beyond traditional releases, Victory Kid has gained significant visibility in gaming culture through multiple placements in Fortnite’s vehicle radio, where songs such as “My World” and “No Brakes” have reached millions of players globally. With their bicontinental identity, energetic sound, expanding media presence and the new single “L’Appel Du Vide”, Victory Kid continues to push forward as one of the vibrant new voices in modern punk rock.
