Italian punkrockers Aurevoir Sòfia release new single “Copie di copie”

Aurevoir Sòfia has released their new single “Copie di copie”. Aurevoir Sòfia is an Italian punk rock band based in Milan.

Strengthened by a summer spent between live shows, opening for Noah and the Loners and Dropdead, Aurevoir Sòfia returned to the studio for the new single Copie di copie (“Copies of Copies”). With the corrosive cut that distinguishes them, the Milanese quintet reclaims their place as outsiders in a world made of duplicity and hypocrisy.

In the words of frontman Luca, the song is about “how difficult it is to be yourself. Copie di copie is walking on the edge between who you feel you are and what others expect from you, between authenticity and fear of judgment. Copie di copie is also depression, which leads you to see reality in a distorted way, to see myself in a way that I don’t recognize myself in. In the chorus I say “Remind me of what I’m not” to react to this feeling. And in the end Copie di copie becomes an invitation to accept yourself, to remember that we are here to do what makes us feel good, nothing more and nothing less.”.

Copie di copie does not reject the hardcore punk roots at the base of the band, but evolves them into more original sounds. Like the previous singles Cadillac II, Anything and Comunque lo stesso, with which they came back to the scene at the beginning of 2024, Aurevoir Sòfia continue their search for a different sound than in the past, more defined and personal but which maintains the same energy, experimenting with lyrics that mix Italian, English and French.

About the band:

Aurevoir Sòfia project was born in Cinisello Balsamo, in the rehearsal rooms in the shadow of a pre-pandemic Milan. The sound soon identified itself in the most modern and energetic English punk rock, inspired by Frank Carter and Idles and by the melodies of Turnstile and Comeback Kid.

Their first album, released on September 25, 2020 for Professional Punkers, is titled Wither and consists of 9 tracks entirely in English. The album fights melancholy through two actions as simple as they are cathartic – screaming
and dancing –, rejecting the narrative that pushes us to always be strong and indestructible.

They performed at the Low-L Fest and took part in the Emo Sucks and Emo Night evenings, opening the shows of Italian (Melody Fall, Cabrera, Vegas Jones) and international artists (Good Riddance, Dave Hause).
