Fruit IPA – Ängöl Bryggeri and Gothenburg Brew
Fruit IPA by Ängöl Bryggeri and Gothenburg Brew. Fruit Beer, 6.5% ABV, 30 IBU.
Hazy and juicy mango colour, pours a medium head.
Tropical and a little bit citrusy aromas, mainly mango but also some passion fruit, orange, pineapple and some small herbal notes.
Flavours are tropical and a bit citrusy, with mango, passion fruit, orange and some white bread.
Pretty juicy mouthfeel, not very bitter but a bit sweet. This feels like a bit of an experiment, mixing fruits into a more classic IPA-profile. For me it works so so. It’s pretty refreshing but it lands somewhere in between those really fresh sour-beer flavours and the more hoppy and tropical IPAs. This feels somewhat like shortcut, and it would perhaps have needed to choose between some more bitterness or some tartness to balance things out in my book. 3.5 out of 5.
