The new single “Mirror, Mirror” by German skate punks Heathcliff, who have become well-known indie acts in the skate punk scene with their melodic yet highly technical music, was released on December 13. The accompanying video was released this Thursday. In addition to their home label SBÄM, they are joined by Pee Records (Australia), Double Helix Records (USA) and Bearded Punk Records (Belgium).

This tune is based on and inspired by a song Basti wrote 25 years ago, which carried the original title “Sick Dog”, revolving around an old-school acrylic bong. “However, times are changing, people grow up in a way and within the course of our songwriting process for the new album, we decided to “refurbish” this old banger, heathcliffanize it and write new lyrics. So this version now is all about those demons that we find “staring at us” every now and then, and that we can only fight them by stickin’ tightly to our best friends and families. Since HxC is always trying to expand the family and keep them close to our hearts, Mati, a former student of Basti, who is also doing the music videos for us, joined us on the hard vocals on this one, to help us fight the demons”.
