On September 13th Gothenburg punks Stay Shut is releasing their debut demo, titled “Demo #1” and consisting of 4 songs. The tracks are heavily influenced by 90s punk rock with ingredients like d-beat, punkrock-choirs, and catchy choruses.

Stay Shut is a band from Gothenburg fueled by nostalgia and a mutual love for the punk that emerged from the 90s. Remember the unpolished sounds of early releases from Bad Religion, Millencolin, Refused, and The Offspring? That’s what these middle-aged guys are on a mission to bring back.

They started off as a Bad Religion cover band (creatively named Bäd Religion), with a drummer only willing to play songs from the album No Control. After mastering the tracks and performing them
live (once), it was only natural to start writing their own songs in the same spirit.
Demo #1 is a love letter to the punk rock of yesteryear. It’s a collection of anthems for those who remember the 90s with a smirk and a wince—the mosh pits, trading mixtapes, and late-
night skate sessions. The release consists of four tracks packed with guitar-driven melodies, hooky vocals, and punk rock-style harmonies. Of course, it includes classic and fast D-beat drums, some breaks (to catch your breath), and yes, at least one guitar solo.
