La Rubia – Althaia

La Rubia by Althaia. Helles Lager, 5% ABV, 20 IBU.

Half clear golden colour, pours a small head.
Citrusy and malty aromas of grapefruit, white bread and herbs.
Flavours are citrusy and slightly malty, with grapefruit, bread, straw and some nuts.
Thin mouthfeel, light bitterness and not much sweetness. A little bit too thin and not as hoppy as I prefer, but that’s part of the style I guess. Decently made but not really my cup of tea, I know that this brewery can make more interesting stuff. Nice to see it in the local supermarket though, good for them. 3.25 out of 5.
