Optophobia – Crooked Moon Brewing

Optophobia by Crooked Moon Brewing. New England IPA, 7% ABV. Brewed with Citra and Rakau.

Hazy pineapple colour, pours a medium head.
Citrusy and tropical aromas of grapefruit, pineapple, sweet cake and something slightly funky and unpleasant that I can’t quite put my finger on.
Flavours are citrusy and tropical, with grapefruit, pineapple, sweet cake and some small hints of pine.
Juicy mouthfeel, medium but soft bitterness. Not overly sweet but got a pleasant hoppiness and no booziness. Nicely balanced, although those aromas that I can’t place drag it down a bit. 3.75 out of 5.
