Typhon IPA – Apex Brewing Company

Typhon IPA by Apex Brewing Company. New England IPA, 6.5% ABV. Brewed with Citra, Vic Secret and Amarillo.

Hazy mango colour, pours a medium head.
Citrusy and tropical aromas of grapefruit, pineapple, sweet cake and some herbs.
Flavours are citrusy and tropical, with grapefruit, pineapple, sweet cake and herbs.
Slightly juicy mouthfeel, distinct bitterness and quite a boozy bite in the end. Got some hoppy sweetness but it’s not tuned up that high. Nicely balanced and got a good bite. I do think that the sweetness could have been brought up a bit, which is more of a personal preference, although I noticed that it became more pronounced when the beer had warmed up a bit. 3.75 out of 5.
