West Coast #02 – Apex Brewing Company

Went past Stockholm Beerfest and tried a couple of beers. First one was West Coast #02 by Apex Brewing Company. American style IPA, 6.5% ABV.

Pretty dark bronze colour with aromas that are resinous and citrusy. Pine, grapefruit, herbs and a bit of caramel.
Flavours are citrusy and piney, with grapefruit, resin, herbs and some bread notes.
Crisp mouthfeel and a distinct bitterness. There is some sweetness in there as well that balances the bitterness nicely. Fun to try a West Coast from these guys, it’s well made and captures the old school essence of the style nicely, while still being quite refreshing. 3.75 out of 5.
